An Amazing place to stay! This place should be at the top of your list for a NZ getaway. Stay for 3 nights like we did , otherwise I fear that you may not get the full experience. The apartment is unique, stunning and decorated with a style and eye for detail that makes many 'Home and Garden' magazine entries look monochrome and boring by comparison. It has to be seen to be believed - it's truly beautiful. David is a fantastic host, friendly, knowledgeable with the perfect balance of being attentive and knowing when to leave you to enjoy the apartment. The welcome platter and dinner on the first night was great , it was restaurant quality and meant that we didn't have the leave the apartment on the first night. The area has a great deal to offer. I've travelled through Eltham and South Taranaki many, many times and never realised how much there is there to do, much of it for free. A walk around the old buildings of Eltham is well worth it. We loved our time with David and Maria. Great hospitality and such luxurious surroundings. What a treat when on a road trip. David's suggestions to drive the Forgotten Highway ended up being one of the highlights of our road trip. What a stunning drive we had with such magnificent views. The green hills were breathtaking. Hardly anyone else on the road and stopping for coffee at the famous Whangamomona Pub chatting with some locals was a real bonus. Such a wonderful place to stay to discover a rich part of the country.
